Kylo was trained to become a Jedi, by his uncle and Jedi Master, Luke Skywalker. But, he joined the dark side of the Force in order to become the supreme power like Darth Vader. Because of the influence of Snoke, leader of the First Order, he joins the First Order as a commander. He destroyed the newest generation of Jedi who were being trained by Luke Skywalker. This was the time when he adopted the name, Kylo Ren. He is also the master of Knights of Ren.

Throughout his life, his only aim was to destroy the Jedi and become like his grandfather. But, because Skywalker had disappeared after the destruction of his pupils, Kylo’s aim was incomplete. He sought to make a map which would lead him to the location of Skywalker. Later, in search of the last piece, the astromech droid, to build himself the map, he encounters his dad, Han Solo, who was in possession of this droid. When the Resistance (an army formed to fight against the evil doings of the First Order, and founded by Leia Organa) attacks the Starkiller Base in order to rescue Rey and destroy the First Order Superweapon, Kylo has a face-off with his father where he kills him. He gets trained again under Snoke and devices his very own lightsaber, using a kyber crystal. The lightsaber is unlike any other- it is distorted and has cracks all over its body. It is believed to be powerful but unstable.
