Sriranjani is Indian actress known for her work in Tamil film industry. She started her career in television series directed by K. Balachander in 2000. She later took the role Madhavan's sister in law when she was offered the role in Alaipayuthey by Mani Ratnam. She has also played the role of Nandini's mother in the film Anniyan by S. Shankar and produced by V. Ravichandran. In 2006, she appeared as Srimathy’s mother in Thimiru. In 2012, Sriranjani appeared in Bollywood film “Ek Deewana tha” which was produced and directed by Gautam Menon. She played the role of Mrs Kulkarni. “Ek Deewana tha” is a Hindi film featuring Prateik Babber and Amy Jackson, which was her Bollywood debut.

Apart from this, she has appeared in several Telugu films such as Neethane En Ponvansantham, Love Failure, Kadhali Sodhappu Yeppadi. Later in 2013, Sriranjani played the character of Dhanlakshmi in Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam. Ponram directed the film, and Ponram and M Rajesh wrote the script. The film also showed the casting by Sivakarthikeyan, Satyaraj, Sri Divya and Soori and Soundarajan. The film was a success with a box office of INR 710 million with roughly the budget of INR 70 million. Sriranjani also appeared in 2015’s Vai Raja Vai as Raja’s mother, in Maari as Sridevi’s mother, in Valu as shakti's mother. She will also perform a supporting role in her upcoming film Vaaliba Raja.
