Kajal Aggarwal is a modern Indian model and film actress, known for working predominantly in Telugu, Tamil and few Bollywood films. She was born on June 19, 1985, in Mumbai, Maharashtra in India to Vinay and Suman Aggarwal. Her younger sister, Nisha Aggarwal, also works in the same field and appeared in Tamil and Telugu films.

She had an internship with the famous cosmetics and beauty company, L’Oreal and that’s when she started her career in modeling. She initially planned on taking an MBA in Brand Management before she decided to start her acting career. Kajal was debuted in the Bollywood romance film, ‘Kyun! Ho Gaya Na..’, Where she played a small role as Aishwarya Rai’s sister.

Subsequently, she appeared in another Telugu film, Chandamama, opposite Navdeep. This film garnered positive reviews and became successful at the box office. 

Kajal made her Tamil debut in the year 2008, from which she co-starred with Bharath in the action entertainer film, Pazhani. After this, she acted in two Tamil films entitled Saroja and Bommalattam. But even if the former became a commercial and critical success, her roles in both films were too irrelevant to improve her career. She also acted in the Telugu films, Pourudu, opposite Sumanth and Aatadista, alongside Nitin in the lead role. 

In the year 2009, Kajal did four films. After this, she did a double role in the high-budget Telugu historical fiction film, Magadheera, which was directed by S. S. Rajamouli. She received praises for donning the role of a princess and earned nominations at the Filmfare and South Scope Awards for Best Telugu Actress. 

Magadheera was very successful and became the highest-grossing film of all time, which turned her to become one of the most sought-after actresses in the Telugu film industry. In 2009, she acted in Saravanan’s 'Ganesh Just Ganesh' and the action comedy romance film, Arya 2, where she earned positive feedback for her brilliant performances in both films. In 2010, Kajal was first seen in the romantic comedy film, Darling, alongside Prabhas. The film turned out to be a commercial success at the box office while she received her second nomination at the Filmfare for Best Actress award. 

Later, she did the Tamil drama thriller film, Naan Mahaan Alla, along with Karthi. This film is based on the real-life incident, and it became a major success at the box-office. Her final release in 2010 was the Telugu romantic comedy film, Brindavanam, which also stars N. T. Rama Rao Jr. and Samantha in the lead roles. This film was acclaimed critically and economically and earned her the Best Actress award at the CineMAA Award. 

In the year 2011, Kajal teamed up again with Prabhas in the romantic comedy film, Mr. Perfect, which turned out to be a critical and commercial success. She was praised for her performance as a conservative doctor and her collaboration with Prabhas earned appraise by the critics. She then received her third nomination at the Filmfare for Best Telugu Actress. This film failed at the box-office and gained negative reviews by the critics, and it failed to make it to the box-office. She acted in the lead role in Rohit Shetty’s Singham, opposite Ajay Devgn. Kajal received nominations at the Filmfare and Zee Cine Award for Best Female Debut. However, the film failed to make it to the box office. She played as a boxer in the latter, and the film became a major commercial success.

Her last release in 2012 was the Telugu film, Sarocharu, from which she acted with Ravi Teja for the second time. But even though she was praised for her performance in the film, it received mediocre reviews and failed at the box office.
