Rohini is a multi-talented South Indian actress, director, and lyricist. She mainly appears in Tamil and Malayalam movies. She started her acting career at the age of 5. Rohini came into the film industry because of her father's keen interest in cinema. Her father Apparao Naidu wanted to become an actor and he approached the director of Yashoda Krishna movie, but the director needed a child artist for doing the role of Krishna. Finally, his eyes fell on the small 5-year-old girl, and she became Krishna. The little Rohini didn’t like the film sets she liked to go to school and continue her education. But her father told her that she is destined to be an actor and could continue the studies privately.

Later Little Rohini, who once hated the film sets, was flying from one set to another. Her career as an actress bloomed after the movie ‘Stri’. She received National Film Award and Andhra Pradesh state award for the category of Best Actress. She completed almost 130 movies as an actress. She has appeared in almost all the south Indian languages.

Rohini was married to the famous actor ‘Raghuvaran’ in 1996 and the couple got separated in 2004. They have one son.

Rohini is a south Indian actress who is highly talented and has worked in 130 South Indian movies. She displayed her talent and professionalism right from her childhood days. She has been acting right since she was five. Her first film was ‘ Bhakta Kannappa’ (1976). Later, she performed in three or four movies as a child artiste in Telugu films.

Even though her success graph in Kollywood and Mollywood is highly commendable one, she was one of the busiest actresses in the industry during the 1980s. While her role in film like ‘Stri’ (Telugu film) is particularly famous and she has won even as a special mention in National Film Award. She also has acted in a couple of Tamil and many Malayalam movies. Slowly she has been even a successful writer, lyricist, activist, director and even a TV host too.

Rohini was born on 15 December 1968 in Andhra Pradesh. Rohini also gave her voiceover for the entire dubbing of few actresses films such as Jyothika Saravanan for film ‘Vettaiyadu Villaiyadu’, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for films like ‘ Iruvar’ and ‘ Raavanan’, Manisha Koirala for a film like ‘Bombay’ etc. She was actress Girija Shettar’s voice, and dubbed for her for film ‘Geethanjali’ that was made by Mani Ratnam. She also forayed into small screen as a writer.

It was way in 1996 when she took up writing serials for TV seriously. This actress became an actor by chance. Her father Apparao Naidu always felt that she could shine like a star, and he introduced Rohini to the director who was making the mythological film ‘Yashoda Krishna,' where she played the role of child Krishna. The film was a huge hit and despite the fact that she did not want to go to shooting spots, her father encouraged her and felt she was lucky and talented to grow up as an actor.

She did her education from home in private and completed her MA course in correspondence. She directed some short films to create awareness about aids.
