Plot
Mukund Varadarajan is a commissioned officer belonging to the Rajput Regiment of the Indian Army. Indhu Rebecca Varghese is his wife. He has a daughter, Arshea Mukund. In 2014, Mukund and his team received inputs from the Intelligence related to the militants’ presence in a village in South Kashmir. Confirmed their presence in a house, Mukund and Sepoy Vikramsingh moved forward and entered the house where they were attacked. As soon as Vikram was shot, Mukund understood the danger and quickly responded. How Mukund faced the militants? What happened to Vikram? The rest of the film deals with this.
Star Performance
Sivakarthikeyan has done complete justice to the given role. His transformation from a comedy hero to live-saving hero is excellent. Sai Pallavi is the show-stealer. She excelled in her role as Indhu. Geetha Kailasam did a fantastic job. Her emotional performance creates Goosebumps. Bhuvan and Rahul Bose are neat in their roles. The rest of the cast did what was required of their roles.
Analysis
Rajkumar Periyasamy has taken a bold script. Making a biographical drama needs a lot of attention. Everyone will compare the reality and the movie shot. Rajkumar showcased the army officer Mukund well, but not the complete justice to his family life. The story is told from Indhu’s eyes. Sai Pallavi is the best choice. Almost all the stars fit well in the roles. However, we expect their college portions would have been shot very romantic. But it was a bit disappointing. Apart from this, Sai Pallavi’s Malayalam accent should have been care of. It hurdles her emotional performance. The music composition is good. The BGM in the intense scenes are excellent and it elevates the scenes. The visuals are good and the aerial shots work out well. The action scenes are choreographed well without any exaggeration.

Verdict
The film has a lot of emotional moments with excellent performances. If the family scenes and SK-SP’s romantic scenes had come out well, it would have made it a bit more well. However, Amaran is a good watch!
