K Bhagyaraj is the name well known to all the film interested people of 1980s and 1990s. He is a multi talented person, who is well versed in script writing, acting, directing as well as music composing. He is married to Poornima Jayaram, who is also a popular actress. He married Poornima, after the death of his first wife, actress Praveena. He has two children, Saranya and Shanthanu. Saranya acted in the film Parijatham, opposite Prithviraj. Shanthanu has also acted in few films and got married to TV host Keerthi. K Bhagyaraj started his career as the assistant of the popular director Barathi Raja, who ruled the Tamil film industry, once upon a time. 

K Bhagyaraj is a good script writer and hence, he had lots of successful films. He has recently written dialogues for the Tamil version of the Telugu movie Magadheera. His films are very popular in Bollywood too. His classical hit movies were remade in Hindi.
