Plot
An orthodox middle class family”s elder son struggles in math equations, and gets a nickname"zero ". What will the mother who herself hasn't passed her 10th exams do to help him?
Star performance
The ensemble cast has done a fantastic job. Nivetha Thomas as Saraswati delivers a sweet and warm performance. Priyadarshi Pullikonda as the teacher adapts the strict teacher persona quite well, whenever he’s onscreen a sense of hate will develop proving the actor has done a commendable job.
Analysis
The film has a very delightful and heartfelt storyline. The director has highlighted the issues children face when it comes to education, its pressure and to be good constantly, it raises questions towards our education system and the vital role parents, teachers play in guiding and shaping a kid’s life. Nivetha Thomas as Saraswati is sweet, warm who only wants her child to succeed. She has given an incredible performance. This film’s parallels can be drawn with the Bollywood film “
Taare Zameen Par

” but there the Teacher was helping and here the mother was doing the job. The film has several heartwarming moments, making you feel more connected to the characters. The film does feel lengthy at times as the director wanted to emphasize on the household life, giving it the nuance. The cinematography is also great in this film, giving it a soft and lively tone. The music by Vivek Sagar also helps in elevating the emotion of the film. The characters of Priyadarshi and Bhagyaraj can be debatable. Maybe the director made the deliberate decision so the audience would empathize more with the kid. But these characters were despicable to a level that you would root for their downfall. 35 is a sweet, warm film with an important message and must be celebrated.
