B Unnikrishnan

B Unnikrishnan is film director and screenwriter; he works in Malayalam Cinema. Unnikrishnan made his debut in screenwriting by Jalamarmaram in 2000, and he won Kerala State Award for his work as a screenwriter. Unnikrishnan was born on 14 August 1970 to P.S Bhaskaran Pillai and Ponamma Bhaskaran Pillai in Pathanamthitta, Kerala, and his full name is Unnikrishnan Bhaskaran Pillai. He is married to Rajeswari Menon and these days he is residing in Cochin, Kerala. Unnikrishnan studied at M G University; he graduated in English and pursued Masters and M. Phil in English Literature.

After his education had finished, he started publishing his articles in literature, culture, and politics. Unnikrishnan edited books on Postmodernism along with V C Haris. He ventured in direction and directed three films. His first movie, Smart City came in 2006, and later he did two more movies which were Madambi and Grandmaster. Unnikrishnan became the General Secretary of Film Federation of Kerala (FEFKA) and was re-elected to the post of General Secretary in 2013. He is also the director of Saamskaarika Khemanidhi in Kerala and the member of the Advisory Committee of Cine Worker’s Welfare Board. The recent films that he has released include I G-Inspector General.

He has written the script and directed the movie himself.
