According to the recent reports, the director claimed in an interview that the Malayalam audience has been quite grateful, and they deserve priority when it comes to Drishyam 3. Jeethu referred to the Drishyam controversy, where he threatened to sue the makers of the Hindi version led by Ajay Devgn.

In case you are not aware, Drishyam 3 was initially planned to be made simultaneously both in Malayalam and Hindi by the producers of the respective versions. This was done because of all the remakes, the Hindi version not only proved worthy, but almost outperformed the original version both the times commercially, as well as critically.
