Another Crisis Emerging In Mollywood?

Despite a seemingly better performance this year, Mollywood is suffering from a serious crisis. But it’s not what you think.

According to the recent reports, the Malayalam industry is suffering from a professional crisis. The amount of films that will be releasing this year are fewer than last year, with the OTT platforms making it only worse. In October, just eight films were registered with the Film Chamber.

This is because OTT pick and choose only those films that are either certified box office successes or have at least earned critical appreciation. Unlike Bollywood, there is no luxury for Malayalam films that weren’t financially successful.
