Babu Janardhanan is screenwriter and director from the Malayalam film industry. Babu came from a humble back ground. He was born to the couple Mr. Janardhanan and Mrs. Pankajakshi at Changanassery, Kerala, did his schooling in Madapally Government, LPS and Government Higher Secondary School, Thrikkodithaanam and completed his higher education from AP School of Arts, Kottayam. Babu. Hestarted working a school teacher at CPPHMHS, Ozhur, Tirur in Malappuram district. Babu is married to Sheeba and they are blessed with two children Neelima Baburaj and Niranjan Baburaj. Babu made his first venture into the film industry as a screenwriter in 1990 with his debut Malayalam movie Anandhavruthabtham directed by P. Anil.

After this Babu worked with many directors and gave some brilliant movies among which some won prestigious awards ;l “Achanurangatha veedu” (2005) was awarded the Best Second Movie from the Kerala State Film Awards, actor Pritiviraj won the State Best Actor Award for the movie “Vaasthavam” (2006) also the Kerala State Film Awards recognized the famous actor Mohanlal as the Best Actor for his performance in the film “Thalappavu” (2008). His recent movie as a screenwriter was “ Swarna Kaduva” in 2016. From a screenwriter Babu went on to become a director. He directed a documentary in 1994 based on the life of Alphonsamma, who is a saint from Kerala, this movie was named “Sahanangalude Amma.” In 2011, Babu came out with his directional debut with his film “Bombay March 12” with Mammootty, Roma and Unni Mukundh playing the lead roles.

The movie was produced by Haneef Muhammed. “Bombay March12” is an Indian drama based on the 1993 Bombay bomb blasts. Despite the positive reception from the critics’ side, the movie did not do well. Babu’s next venture was a sequel of “Achanurangatha veedu” and this movie was named “Lisammayude Veedu” starring Meera Jasmine, Rahul Mahadev and Salim Kumar. The film had been released in 2013 with the story written and directed by Babu himself and produced by P.T. Saleem. “God for Sale: Daivam Vilppanakka” was Babu’s next film, produced by P.T. Saleem with Kunchako Goban playing the lead role.

The filmalso featured Jyothi Krishna, Thilakan, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Anumol and Tini Tom. The movie is a satirical drama focusing on the false spiritual leaders who are rising in numbers and also talks about the factors that determine the faith of a person. Babu’s recent movie as a director was “Kallante Katha” greatly inspired by the book “Thaskaran Maniyan Pillayude Aathmakadha,” starring the talented Jayasurya. Dileesh Pothan

Dileesh Pothan is a prominent Malayalam film actor-turned-director. He was born as Dileesh Philip on February 19, 1981, in Manjoor, District of Kottayam in Kerala, India. He studied at Emmanuel’s High School in Kothanalloor and later pursued a pre-degree at KE College in Mannanam. Later, he took Bachelor of Science at St. Philomena’s College in Mysore. He showed deep interest in cinema and drama, and so he decided to take a Master of Arts (MA) in Theatre Arts and attended the Sree Sankaracharya University of Kerala and a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Theatre Arts at the MG University in Kottayam. Initially, he has worked as an actor and associate director in several films including director Aashiq Babu’s Salt N’ Pepper (2011), 22 Female Kottayam (2012), Da Thadiya (2012), 5 Sundarikal (2013), Idukki Gold (2013), and Gangster (2014). Dileesh is also the associate director of Dileesh Nair’s Malayalam satirical comedy film, Tamaar Padaar. Also in 2014, he acted in the Malayalam action drama film, Iyobinte Pusthakam, with Fahadh Faasil, Jayasurya, and Lal in pivotal roles. In 2015, he reunites with Aashiq Babu and played the role of Ullas Menon in the Malayalam coming-of-age film, Rani Padmini. This 2016, Dileesh turned director in the Malayalam comedy-drama film, Maheshinte Prathikaaram, with Fahadh Faasil in the lead role. It was based on the life of Thampan Purushan of Cherthala. Maheshinte Prathikaaram earned commercial success and grossed ₹17.35 crore at the box-office. Dileesh also played the role of Eldho in the film, an American Malayali.According to Dileesh, directing is his real passion and acting just happened accidentally. He is now working in the upcoming Malayalam comedy-drama film, Thondi Muthalum Driksakshiyum, which is set to release in 2017. This film will see Fahadh Faasil, Soubin Shahir, and Alencier Ley Lopez in the lead roles.
