Born in Varkala, Thiruvananthapuram, Mohan Roop was a screenwriter, director, and producer of Malayalam films and documentaries. He is the son of Nalinakshi and N. Madhavan Acharya. Mohanroop is married to Nirmala. He settled in Thrissur, 20 years prior to complications in his marriage. He additionally got converted to Christianity. To join Pune institute, he left his studies at S. N. School at Varkala. After doing a leading course from the renowned Film foundation, he acted as an associate under Aravindan for the motion picture, Kummatti.
