Paul Wernick

Paul Wernick is a renowned producer and screenwriter. Originally from Canada, he has studied at the University of California, Los Angeles. Paul majored in Political Sciences and initially wanted to be a news producer. He is married to Rita Hsiao who is also a screenwriter. She has a well known presence in the industry as the writer of Toy Story 2 (1999) and Mulan (1998).

Paul is currently working on Deadpool 2 set to release in 2018, Watch Dogs and Zombieland 2. Some of these include Gloire et fortune: La grande imposture (2004), Living the Dream (2004), Stuck on Dirty (2005), Invasion Iowa (2005) and El show de Cándido (2006).

The Joe Schmo Show which has been a reality television hoax show is created and executive produced by Paul and Rhett Reese. It ran for three seasons in the United States of America. He has also dabbled at writing the science fiction and military action film G.I. Joe: Retaliation (2013) based on the toy franchise. In spite of critics not approving of the movie, it was a huge box office hit. In 2001, he created Reese Wernick Productions alongside Rhett Reese with the aim of producing and creating entertainment in various mediums.

Paul is not an active user of any social media platform though he took to Reddit to promote his film Deadpool. He enjoyed his writing for Deadpool because of creative freedom owing to the rule-breaking and frivolous attitude of the main character. His favorite superhero is the Ironman. The horror film in the science fiction genre Life which released in March 2017 has also been written by him.
