Ami Boghani

Ami Boghani is a New York-based producer and writer. She was the executive of Mirabai films, a company owned by Mira Nair Mira Nair, a veteran Filmmaker, based in New York >> Read More... who is an Oscar-nominated director and created fabulous works in her field. Ami played a prominent role in the formation of Maisha that is a non-profit organization.

Maisha’s work consists of training filmmakers in East Africa. She carried on with the training work there from the year 2004 to 2008. She dedicated her time as a coordinator and production mentor at the 2010 filmmakers’ lab in Uganda. She spent months working over there.

Ami was born on 14^th of October in the year 1981 in Acton, Massachusetts, United States. She went to Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut. She pursued BA in Film Studies and English Literature. She lives with her husband and daughter in Brooklyn, New York.

Ami is an active member of the Maisha Foundation’s Board of Director. She has been to many places such as Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda as the mentor and coordinator. She has also been a screenwriter at the Filmmaker’s Lab. From the year 2004 to 2012, Ami worked with Mira Nair’s production company in the development and production of Mirabai Films.

She worked as the Associate Producer on AIDS JAAGO. This anthology film consists of four different parts. The movie is the intense adaption of a novel by Mohsin Hamid. She has produced ‘Words With Gods’ in 2014, ‘8’ in 2008, ’Positive’ in 2007. She has also known for the movie ‘New York, I Love You’. She worked in the Art Department of the movie ‘American Wake’ of 2004. She was part of the miscellaneous crew for the movie such as ‘Music Inn’ of 2005.

Ami is the author of GradeSaver ™ Classic Notes: Rear Window, which was edited by Christine McKeever. She co-wrote ‘The School for Good and Evil: The Ever Never Handbook’, which is a well-acclaimed book.
