Cloris Leachman

Cloris Leachman is an American actress and a television personality. She has achieved eight Primetime Emmy Awards. She is known for her role in The Last Picture Show in 1971 for which she won Academy Award. She has worked on various projects with various genres from drama to comedy. She was born in Des Moines. She was the oldest daughter of Berkeley Claiborne Leachman. Her father was in family business. She went to the Northwestern University. She had participated in the Miss America pageant. He did not win the pageant but was very much appreciated by everyone. She started her acting career after this. She started from a theater and played a role in You Like It Shakespeare’s As You Like It by Shakespeare. She was also a very successful television actress.

She has played small roles in many series. In the 1960s she did shows like The Untouchables, Gunsmoke, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, in 1995, she did Kiss Me Deadly. Leachman got more popularity when she started doing movies. Her roles in the movie were small but had a great effect. In 2010, she was a part of comedy-drama serial Raising Hope. In 2009, she published her autobiography: My Autobiography. She got married to George Englund, who was a film producer and director. The duo had five children’s together.
