Hugo Weaving

Hugo Weaving aka Hugo Wallace Weaving was born in in Nigeria on the 4th of April in the year 1960. Hugo’s father Wallace Weaving and mother Anne had three children. Hugo’s father was a seismologist and mother was a teacher and a tour guide. Hugo has an elder brother (Simon) and younger sister (Anna). Hugo used to travel a lot as a child as his father’s job demanded that they travel between Australia, Nigeria and Britain.

Hugo settled permanently in Australia in the year 1976 to complete his education in Sydney at Knox Grammar School and graduated from the National Institute of Dramatic Art. Just as Hugo was out of school, he had captured the attention with his eye-catching performance in the year 1983 as he acted in The City’s Edge, which was a low-Budget film. Ever since Hugo has had a steady and successful career in film and television which has also won him numerous awards such as the Australian Film Institute awards for being the Best Actor in leading roles. In 2005, Hugo got the lead role in the film V for Vendetta in which he had to wear a mask for the entire film after which he lay his strong foot in Hollywood Hugo with his partner Katrina Greenwood had their first child, a baby boy who was born in the year 1989 and named him Harry. In 1993, the couple has another child, a daughter and named her Holly. He also owns a dairy farm in Australia, which is a three-hour drive to the north of Sydney, Hugo was also diagnosed of epilepsy when he was at the age of 13 and ever since has never got a driver’s license.

Hugo is an actor who is ready to do any role as he takes it to be a challenge and makes sure to give justice to all his roles. Some of his outstanding performances can be seen in the films The Key Man, Happy Feet, The Dress Maker, Peaches and goes on.. to having a total of 81 Credits in his name.
