David Lipman is an English film and television actor, born on May 12, 1938, in Brooklyn, New York City in the United States. He appears in Woody Allen’s American comedy-drama film, Stardust Memories in 1980. In the same year, he portrayed the role of The State Senator from New Jersey in the American action film, The Exterminator. David co-starred Ken Wahl in the 1982 cold war action film, The Soldier. In 1984, he was seen as Mr. Blake in the television series, Tales from the Darkside and acted with Tom Parsekian in the 1985 comedy film, Hot Resort. He also played as a bank buddy in another comedy film, Playing for Keeps, in 1986.
David was also part of the farce motion picture, The Impostors, in 1998, where he played as a baker. During the 90s, he continued working on films including Tom Hanks I quote his famous line “Mama always said life was >> Read More... ’ The Bonfire of the Vanities in 1990 and the comedy film, Weekend at Bernie’s 2 in 1993. In the same year, he co-starred Michael J. Fox in the romantic comedy film, For Love or Money. He earned fame and success when he did the role of Judge Morris Torledsky in the very popular American procedural and legal drama series, Law & Order. David was seen from Seasons 2 to 16 of the series and later played the role of Judge Arthur Cohen in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, the second spin-off of the original Law & Order. He reprised his role as Judge Morris Torledsky in the first season of the Law & Order: Trial by Jury in 2005.
In 2010, David was seen in Coen Brothers’ True Grit. Following the success of his character in Law & Order, he played the role of a grumpy, mean judge on NBC’s musical drama series, Smash, in 2012. Last 2015, he played as Rabbi in Growing Up and Other Lies.
