Rob Letterman is a Hollywood film director. Born in Hawaii, he is perhaps best known for movies like “Shark Tale” and “Monsters vs. Aliens”, and “Gulliver’s Travels”. Before directing his own live-action films, he worked in the backgrounds of some well-known movies both animated and live action.

Letterman’s directorial debut was the six minute long animated short film “Los gringos”, released in 1999. The short film was screened at the Sundance Film Festival for the year 2000. Following this, he worked on the lighting and color aspects of production for the 1999 killer crocodile movie “Lake Placid”.

He worked in the pre-production department for the popular animated film “Shrek”. Following the success of that venture, he directed the comedy animated film Shark Tale. The film was a star-studded venture, starring the likes of ‘ Will Smith “Getting’ Jiggy With It!” This his own song releas >> Read More... ’, ‘ Robert De Niro A legendary actor and one of the most influential >> Read More... ’, and ‘ Renee Zellweger She is one of the biggest star and utmost paid act >> Read More... ’. The film was a commercial success, grossing $367 million worldwide. However, the movie wasn’t very well received by critics. Still, the film did earn an Oscar nomination in the Best Animated Feature category.

His next directorial venture was another animated movie, Monsters vs. Aliens. Much like Shark Tale, it also features a star-heavy cast that included ‘ Reese Witherspoon She’s one of the most dazzling and utmost paid act >> Read More... ’, ‘ Seth Rogen Seth Rogen is a Canadian born actor, comedian, wri >> Read More... ’, and ‘ Will Arnett This “Emmy-nominated comedian” and “Teenage Mutant >> Read More... ’. It was a big budget film, having cost around $175 million to produce. It did well enough commercially, grossing more than $381 million around the world. However, it received mixed reviews from critics.

Having achieved some success directing animated films, he decided to direct films based on the real world. His first live action film was Gulliver’s Travels, a modern day adaptation of the old novel by ‘Jonathan Swift’. Like his previous movies, it did well enough at the box office but was largely panned by critics, mainly for being an extremely poor imitation of the satirical novel that it is inspired from.

Following this, he was signed up to the direct the “ Goosebumps Click to look into! >> Read More... ”, based on R.L. Stine’s children’s horror stories of the same name. The film featured heavy special effect work as well as multiple spooky characters from multiple stories written by ‘R.L. Stine’. As a result, not only did the film do well at the box office, making more than $150 million but it also received award nominations for its excellent use of special effects.

Rob Letterman’s next project is titled Dungeons and Dragons, although a release date is yet to be finalised for this movie.
