New York – U.S. to artists Virgina Admiral and Robert De Niro Sr. He attended PS 41 in New York, and attended high school at Elisabeth Irwin High. He also attended High School of Music and Art and McBurney School. He studied dramatics at Stella Adler Conservatory and Lee Strasberg’s. He married Diahnne Abbott on 1976 and got divorced on 1988. He later married Grace Hightower on 1997 and had 6 children.
He first appeared with a role in “Three Rooms in Manhattan” in 1965. He also made films with “Les Jeunes Loups”, “Greetings”, “Sam’s Song”, “The Wedding Party”, “Bloody Mama”, “Hi!
