Francis Ford Coppola is a director, screenwriter, and a producer. He hails from America He got enrolled in UCLA Film School for graduation.

He directed his first short Film, The two Christophers and then Ayamonn the Terrible. He then directed his first Film Tonight for Sure for which he was a screenwriter and producer. He also directed and produced Bram Stoker’s Dracula. This movie received positive reviews from the critics, and it was number 1 film at the box office for quite a while. He is a multiple award holder. His movie Patton won Academy Award for best original screenplay. He was the screenwriter for the movie. The Godfather won many Awards such as Golden Globe Award, Academy Award, Kansas City Film Critics Circle Award, Directors Guild of America award, David di Donatello award. The Godfather part II won Academy Award, Kansas City Film Critics Circle Award, Writers Guild of America Award. He received best director Award for both the Films.

Bram Stoker’s Dracula won Saturn Awards for Best Direction and also Best Horror Film. The conversation won Palme d’Or, Kansas City Film Critics Circle Award, National Board of Review Award.

He was given #4 ranking in top ten directors of all time in a poll conducted by Sight and Sound publication and #10 in Critics top ten directors. He was given number 17 ranking in Moviemaker magazine’s top 25 directors and #21 in Entertainment weekly’s top 50 directors.

He is even a recipient of many honorary Awards like “Golden Lion” and he was even awarded at the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival in 2007. In 2015, he got The Princess Austria Award for Arts. He is now a producer of the upcoming Film Jeepers Creepers 3 which is to be released in 2016.

Francis Ford Coppola is a prominent Hollywood director, screen writer and producer. He became a household name with The Godfather and was widely regarded as one of the greatest filmmakers of all time.

He was born in Michigan on 7 April 1939 to Carmine and Italia Coppola. He grew up in New York. He studied at Hofstra College where he developed a keen interest in theatre. He completed his graduation at UCLA Film School.
He was an assistant of the filmmaker Roger Corman.  He was the dialogue director, sound man and an associate producer for Tower of London (1962), The Young Racers (1963) and The Terror (1963) respectively. Later, Coppola directed Dementia 13 which went on to become a cult classic film.

He co-wrote This Property is Condemned (1966), Is Paris Burning? (1966) and eventually directed You’re a Big Boy Now in 1966, which garnered critical acclaims and got him his Master of Fine Arts degree. His next venture Apocalypse Now (1979), which was based on the Vietnam War, received tremendous critical acclaim and was widely regarded as a masterpiece by many.
