Dan Aykroyd

Dan Aykroyd was born in Ontario, Canada on 1st July 1952. He is an actor by profession and is also a screenwriter and a famous musician. His father is Samuel Aykroyd who is a civil engineer and worked for the Canadian Prime Minister as a policy advisor. His mother is Lorraine Helene. He has a brother who is an actor and prefers comedy as his favorite genre.

He received his primary education from St. Plus X and St. Patrick’s School and later joined the Carleton University where he studied criminology and sociology but did not complete his graduation and soon dropped out from there. Initially, he worked as a standup comedian and used to perform at various places in Canada. At the age of 17, Dan started to work on a professional level when he became a member of a comedy troupe.

The youngest star, Dan, who appeared in the first four seasons, this brought uniqueness to the show due to the unusual humor and flawlessness in his character.

He is a fantastic mimic artist and copies Jimmy Carter, Rod Serling, Julia Child, Tom Snyder, etc. Dan made his debut in 1977 with the flick, “Love at First Sight” where he played the character of Roy. In 1980, Dan worked with John Belushi for “The Blue Brothers” and started to perform musical concerts at various places. They organized a world tour in 1988, and they make appearances at musical events around the world.

Dan wrote the script of the Ghostbusters series which released in 1984 and 1989.
