Andy Borowitz

Andy Borowitz is an American actor, stand-up comedian and a blogger with The New Yorker. He is famous for The Borowitz Report that satirically covers American news.

Andy Borowitz was born on January 4, 1958, in a Jewish family at Shaker Heights, Ohio, U.S.A. He did his schooling from Shaker Heights High School. He graduated from Harvard College in 1980. He was in the Adams House at Harvard and was the Harvard Lampoon president. At that time he worked with the Hasty Pudding Theatricals as a writer. Andy studied with William Alfred, famous playwright. His undergraduate thesis was on Restoration Comedy. (2007). The Borowitz report was a site founded by Andy during 2001. He became very famous by writing news in a satirical way and came to be known as the political satirist. The Wall Street Journal gave him a one-page story in 2003 which increased the number of readers to millions.

The Creators Syndicators started syndicating Andy’s The Borowitz Report to newspapers like Los Angeles Times, The Philadelphia Inquirer, and The Seattle Times from 2005. In 2007, Andy started a blog for Huffington Post which became very popular. The Borowitz Report opened a Twitter account in 2009, which became the top Twitter account as per Time Magazine polls in 2011. But later, the feed was abandoned. The New Yorker acquired Andy’s Report on July 18, 2012. Andy has also appeared on television shows like American Morning (CNN), Countdown with Keith Olbermann, Live At Gotham (Comedy Central), and Best Week Ever (VH1). He did stand-up comedy at all famous clubs across America. He has also written his autobiography, An Unexpected Twist. He is America’s greatest comedian.
