He pursued a bachelor’s in television and film production at the University of Georgia in 1989. Upon graduating, he pursued acting in Atlanta, where he also worked as a bartender. Later, he relocated to Los Angeles and continued to study acting. His initial projects as an actor were his appearances in videos, advertising, and television shows through Houghton Agency.

Robert’s career as an actor began when he was only twenty-eight years of age.
