Gary Richardson was born in 1957, known as a radio presenter. He is a regular face in the sports programme Sporstweek which is broadcasted on the radio channel BBC Radio 5 Live. He began his career on BBC Radio Oxford. Initially, he started out as a football player and joined Southampton and Reading football clubs but soon he realised that it was not his destiny, to pursue as a footballer. But he supports Oxford United Football Club and is often spotted on the stands of Woking FC(Football Club).
In 1981, he presented his first report on national radio during the match between Manchester United and Nottingham Forest. Richardson tutored under Bryon Butler, Peter Jones, and Tony Adamson. This training made him earn a permanent spot as a sports representer. His style of presenting is a little aggressive and gives the listeners some valuable information about the sport. His show won an award in category of Best Sports Programme in 2007. Then, again in the year 2009 it was nominated in same category. He got a new interview show in 2007 to present for BBC Radio 4.
In this show he interviewed many famous faces from sportspersons to politicians like Nelson Mandela, Hansi Cronji, and Anna Kournikova. He raised a lot of eyebrows when he irritated Anna Kournikova by questioning her ability to play at Wimbledon. His style of interviewing is praised by his fellowmates John Humphrys and Jeremy Paxman. He even interviewed president of The United States, Bill Clinton when there was a delay in the Wimbledon match. For over 23 years he has been acting as a public speaker and in his speeches he often mentions anecdotes from interviews. Richardson is a married man and had had 3 children, two daughters and one son, from his wife.
