Carrie was born in Panama City, Florida, the USA as Caroline Marie Henn. She is the sister of actor Christopher Henn. Her father worked in the Air Force, and Carrie spent much of her childhood in England. She achieved a degree in liberal studies and child development from California University at Stanislaus in June 2000. While she was at a school in Lakenheath, she was cast in Aliens. She had no previous acting experience before the movie, never even appearing in a school play.
