Mark Monero was born on May 12, 1968, to Afro-Caribbean parents in London, England. He is a British musician and actor. He played a number of characters, including Sid, Nancy, Wilt, and Babylon, but he is most remembered for playing Steve Elliot in the BBC serial opera East Enders (1991–96). Hollywood and Bollywood have both used Mark Monero, and his films and artwork have been published in both English and Hindi. When Monero was introduced to Anna Scher's drama school in Islington, England, in the late 1970s, he started his acting career. One of his early jobs was as "Blue's" brother in the influential 1980s movie Babylon, which stars Brinsley Ford. Early television jobs for Monero include those in the serials Play for Today (1980), Bless Me Papa (1981), and Grange Hill (a BBC children's show) (1983). Afterwards, he was able to land the part of Woody in the well-known detective series Lovejoy (1986). Subsequently, he appeared in the 1986 film Dempsey and Makepeace and the Sid and Nancy biopic of punk singer Sid Vicious of the Sex Pistols.

At this time, Monero also had an appearance on Smiley Cultures Club Mix as a member of the comic team Shift and Zed with Gary Beadle. He then played Steve Elliot in EastEnders (1991–1996) opposite Michelle Gayle, who portrayed Hattie Tavernier, his love interest. The Lenny Henry Show (1988), Young, Gifted, and Broke (1989), and The Bill are among Monero's more credits (1985; 1988; 2001; 2009). He acted as the long-lost son of Linda in the BBC sitcom Gimme Gimme Gimme (2001), Casualty (2002), Judge John Deed (2005), Waking The Dead (2005), and Doctors (2005). (2006). He also appeared in the E4 teen drama Skins as the rapping father of the musician Jal (2007). Moreover, Monero played a character in the science fiction show Doctor Who and the soap series Silver Street on the BBC Asian Network.

In the Saahil Prem-directed Indian dance movie Crazy About Dancing, he also portrayed the part of Caesar. Also, Mark had an appearance in the music video for "Escape Velocity" by The Chemical Brothers. Also, he was seen in the music videos for "Hello Boy Hey Girl" and "Do It Again" performed live. Monero is a skilled stage performer who has been in several plays. He writes and performs music for himself as well as the group North of Ping Pong. Since his early years, Monero has also been involved in creating, composing, and performing his own music. On the Earth (2021), in which Mark Manero portrays the part of Frank, was released recently. In the Netflix movie Villain, he portrayed the strong man Michael Till and displayed his muscular body. His recent TV series was better (2023).
