Plot

Sathyamoorthy is a constable. Cycle Shankar, a gangster escapes from the Chennai cops and lands in Silukkuvarpatti, where Sathyamoorthy works. Shankar has plans to murder the ex-Minister, but was caught by Sathyamoorthy and had been locked in prison. Sathyamoorthy gives him tightly and Shankar decides to kill Sathyamoorthy, before murdering the ex-Minister. Shankar’s people break into the police station and rescues him. But, Shankar is keen in his ambition to kill Sathyamoorthy first. What happens next? Did Sathyamoorthy escape from Shankar? Did he get any promotion? Watch the film in theaters!

Star Performance

Vishnu Vishal excelled in his role as a low-ranking cop. Action and comedy had worked out well for him. Regina has nothing to do and she seems to have felt a bit uncomfortable with her character. Oviya did justice to her role in the limited screen time. Sai Ravi, Mansoor, Yogi Babu, Anandaraj, Karunakaran and the rest of the stars had done justice to their roles.

Analysis

Chella Ayyavu makes his debut with the action comedy and he succeeds in making his debut with a hit. The comedy scenes are scripted well. But, some of the scenes remind us of the comedy scenes from the old and recent comedy movies. However, as the stars perform well, we forget that soon. Certain scenes miss the right time and slip a bit from the track. Although the film is loaded with comedy, it misses out a perfect comical climax, which we enjoyed in Kamal Haasan Kamal Haasan is the most versatile actor that Indi >> Read More... comedy films. Except for a very few scenes, the film has all the qualities of a family entertainer.

Verdict

Silukkuvarpatti Singam is not a super duper film, but a good comedy entertainer, which could be a good time pass for this weekend. If we exclude a few scenes, the film is a complete family entertainer.
