Plot

An old man narrates to a publisher about how he saved people from supernatural powers. He remembers of a particular incident when a writer and his family moved into a house numbered 13. How supernatural events affect them, and how the old man and the writer find a solution to this problem form the remainder of the film’s plot.

Star Performances

The only good thing about this film is a few acting performances. The likes of Anandaraj, Tanikella Bharani, and Ravi Varma make this film somehow watchable.

Analysis

A supernatural thriller about a haunted house? While there is nothing to be overwhelmed about, the film ‘Inti Number 13’ still had opportunities to be somewhat riveting like the 2009 film ’13 B’, if not super brilliant. However, when it came to execution, the makers missed the mark completely.
Most Indian horror thrillers have a common problem: a narrative that sounds scary but ends up being unintentionally funny. In that context, ‘Inti Number 13’ is no different. Even if the story held promise, the visuals of this film were more than enough to dissuade the viewers from doing so.

The film starts on a simple note, and initially, for the first few minutes, it looks like everything is good. However, after the initial first hour, this movie feels less like a horror film and more like a parody video. That wouldn’t have been a problem, had the makers not marketed this film as one.

To top it all, some of the scenes look as if they were lifted straight from an adult film. The plot had no semblance of a structure or even some kind of logic. The visuals are not only jarring, they are unbearable beyond a point. Despite the film being slightly above 2 hours, the haphazard editing, makes it look like a never-ending snoozefest.

The only saving grace of this film is the acting performances. Irrespective of the flaws, actors like Anandaraj, Tanikella Bharani, and Ravi Varma did their best to salvage whatever remained of this ludicrous script.

Verdict

‘Inti Number 13’ is a horror film that could have gone places, if the makers had focused a little bit on the screenplay. The visuals and the editing were far from impressive. The only reason you can watch this film is for some acting performances.
