Plot
Rajasekhar’s invention for a noble cause is exploited by the smuggler, Simon. In a turn of events, Rajasekhar dies, leaving his three daughters alone. Deva, Rajasekhar’s friend, is all set to find out the truth behind Rajasekhar’s death, if Simon is involved in this. Is Simon, only a smuggler? Do Deva and Simon share their past? Who is Dayal, and what is his role in Simon’s team? The rest of the film explores all these.
Star Performance
Superstar’s intro is excellent and everything he does in style creates Goosebumps. He is still good in action sequences and simple, yet stylish dance moves. His chemistry with Sathyaraj is pretty decent. Sathyaraj is good in his role, despite a minimal screen time. Nagarjuna’s first antagonist role is brilliant. His charm adds an extra star to Coolie’s crown. Soubin is as excellent as ever. His performance and body language spread his popularity widely after Manjummel Boys. Uppi’s screen time is minimal, compared to Nag and Soubin, but he did justice to the character. His screen presence is awesome. Charle is okay in his role. Rachita Ram makes her debut in Tamil and she is impressive with her performance. Shruti Haasan’s performance and dialogue delivery are stunningly good. It is one of her best performances, so far.
Analysis
The title card for Superstar’s 50th year in the film industry is a treat for his fans. The first half of the first half takes enough time for character intros. The action sequences are finely choreographed, especially the mansion fight scene. The interval block is pretty decent, which is elevated well by Anirudh’s BGM. Superstar’s scenes with Nag and Soubin are finely penned. Although Rachita didn’t get a huge screen time, her character is one of the important ones in the film with an interesting twist. Shruti’s character should’ve been penned well. Her character is limited to an emotional performance. If it had been written well, her character, Preethi, would’ve been spoken well. The biggest plus in the film, other than the Superstar, Nag, Soubin, and Anirudh’s BGM is Lokesh Kanagaraj’s way of maintaining suspense. The first half doesn’t allow us to predict the upcoming scenes. Good work, Lokesh! Although Aamir’s cameo is not a must, it is inserted for star value. The visuals are impressive. The editing should’ve been a bit better in cutting the length. But, for the non-linear narration, the editing is perfect.

A magnetic screen presence of Superstar! It is a treat for his fans! If you wish to get a good cinematic experience, you can visit the theatres! It is definitely a one-time watch!
