Mohini” is a horror thriller film scripted and directed by Ramana Madhesh, who had directed Arasangam with “ Vijayakanth” and “ Madurey” with “ Vijay.” Mohini star cast has Trisha Krishnan, Jackky Bhagnani, “ Suresh,” Poornima Bhagyaraj, “ Ganeshkar,” Yogi Babu, Lollu Sabha Swaminathan” and Jangiri Madhumitha. The film that had been shot in London has the music composition of Vivek – Mervin for the songs and Arul Dev for the BGM. Lakshman Kumar produced the film. RB Gurudev cranked the camera Dinesh Ponraj edited the film.

Vaishnavi is a popular chef and she travels to London along with her assistants Balki and Panju. There, she meets Sandeep and fall in love with him. Vaishanvi went on for boating with her friends. She finds a shell and impressed by its looks, she blows it. After blowing it, she gets possessed by a spirit, which was her look alike. The spirit was Mohini and it started targeting the people, who were the reasons for her death. When Mohini comes to know that Sandeep has a connection with the killer, she decides to kill him too. What happened next? Did Sandeep escape from Mohini? Watch the film in theaters!

Star Performance

Trisha had not shown any difference for both the roles. Although the DNA of Vaishnavi and Mohini matches, don’t they have different facial expressions? Yogi Babu tried his level best to keep the film alive with his performance. Others have performed what they have been asked.

Madhesh’s script looks good while reading. But, the director missed the essence while executing. Mohini is no way different from the usual horror films that come with revenge and comedy. The cinematography is good and the VFX works are okayish. Trisha and Jacky scenes should have been made a little livelier.

What’s There?

  • Trisha’s performance is okayish, yet she could have differentiated both the roles
  • Cinematography is good

What’s Not There?

  • The scenes are very much predictable
  • Romantic scenes didn’t look natural but forced
  • Climax resembles the hit horror movies

In short, like her solo movie “ Nayagi,” Mohini fails to impress the audiences. If you didn’t get tickets to any other films this weekend, you could try this. Although it has the regular horror formula, Mohini could be watched, once!
