Poornima Bhagyaraj

Poornima Bhagyaraj was born in Tamil Nadu, India. She is an Indian film actress. She has been working in Tamil and Malayalam films. Apart from Tamil and Malayalam films, she has done two Hindi films – Paheli and Dillagi. She was also a part of a Telugu film - Mantri Gari Viyyankudu. She was a leading actress of her times from 1980–1985. Poornima’s on-screen pairing with actor Mohan in Tamil and Shankar in Malayalam was a uber-hit.

She got married to K. Bhagyaraj, who is a Tamil director, actor, producer and scriptwriter on February 7, 1984. They have a daughter Saranya and a son Shantanu. She willingly moved out of acting in films before getting married to K. Bhagyaraj. After many years, she made a comeback in Aadhalal Kadhal Seiveer playing the role of a mother. She also owns a boutique named Shree Ethnic Trends and Bridal Lounge in Nungambakkam, Chennai. She says, “I have always been a Fashionista. Saris and anything in silk are my favorites”. Poornima has been designing wedding saris, custom-made blouses, and salwar. Poornima’s collection of designer blouses is on display at Meena Fashion Expo.
