Aranmanai 2 is a horror comedy that has been released amidst huge expectations. With Aranmanai turning out to a success at the box office, the audiences are too excited to watch.  But here is news for the audience. Except for the title the two films don’t bear any resemblance. Well, let’s see how this directorial endeavor of Sundar C, who is becoming adept at making multistarrers, turns out to be.

Siddharth returns to his village accompanied by his fiancée Trisha. This he does to look after his ailing father, who is suffering from a ghost attack. Well, the magnificent house in which they reside seems to be haunted, and the spirit has a great time in sending goosebumps to those who are living in it. And Sundar C plays the good man who investigates the matter. What does the investigation bring to light? Is the family relieved of their troubles? Watch the movie to get answers to these questions.

Star Performances

Aranmanai 2’s casting is commendable. Siddharth has effortlessly slipped in his character, and the bewildered looks he gives in the film are par excellence. And well, Trisha has tried her luck in the horror genre for the first time, and she pulls off both her positions in the movie with ease. After the success of Thoongavanam, Trisha can have a rested mind since Aranmanai 2 has worked well for her both regarding glamor and acting. Hansika, the lucky charm of Sundar C, is effervescent and charming, and she very well has taken care of the nuances of her character. Poonam Bajwa expresses well. Sundar C has done a good job as an actor. Soori and Kovai Sarala share a great chemistry and their comedy, though time-tested, is one of the highlights of the movie. Manobala supports in the comedy department while Radharavi does a commendable job.

Sundar C very well knows the pulse of the audience. He has a flair for making crafting good screenplay and in this film too he has emerged a winner.

What’s there?

  • Each character in the movie has a purpose, and they are etched well.
  • The cinematography is worth mentioning.
  • The magnificent sets are a feast for the eyes.
  • Hip Hop Thamizha’s BGM complements well with the tempo of the movie.

What’s not there?

The first half could have been delivered better.

Yes, the movie is indeed predictable, but the way in which it is executed deserves applause. Aranmanai  2 can be watched once.
