Plot
A beggar gets locked up in a palace accidentally. Initially, he enjoys the luxury. Soon, he gets to know that there is something fishy in the palace. He faces some comedic yet challenging situations and gets entangled with the lives of the palace’s inhabitants. Will he be able to relieve himself from the danger? The rest of the story follows that.
Star Performance
Kavin has honed his acting skills finely, film after film. He proved himself good in “Lift,” then in “Star,” and now in Bloody Beggar. His expressions are fine. His body language is good. Redin did what was required of him.
Analysis
The debutant director has carved out the screenplay well. The nameless beggar’s experiences before and after the palace entry are neatly shown. There are a lot of good dark comedy moments, and Sivabalan’s work reflects something from Nelson. The dark comedy scenes resemble that of Nelson’s previous works, yet they are good. Kavin is a good choice for the role. He emoted extremely well. The costume and make-up department should be praised well for their excellent work. There are a few flashback scenes that entertain the audience with some warm moments. The genre switches frequently and slightly distracts the audience. However, the screenplay keeps them engaged throughout. The visuals and music are adequate for a dark comedy thriller.
