Michael Schumacher was a racing driver born on 3rd January 1969. He was born in Hurth in North Rhine Westphalia to Rolf Schumacher and Elisabeth. His father was a bricklayer. Rolf Schumacher designed a pedal kart with a motorcycle engine. Michael tried a hand with it and crashed it. He was just 4 at that time. Rolf Schumacher took his son to a Karting track and made him a member. Michael was the youngest member of the club. He practiced with his kart built by his dad and won the championship at the age of six. Michael’s dad started repairing karts and also rented karts while his mother worked in the canteen at the karting track to support Michael’s passion. At the age of 12, Michael got a license in Luxembourg.
At the age of 14, he got his German license and at 15, he was the German Junior Kart Champion. In 1985 he joined Adolf Neubert, the Eurokart dealer. He was the champion in German and Europe in 1987. He left the school and started working as a mechanic. In 1988, he took part in German Formula Ford and Formula Konig series. He couldn’t win Formula Ford but became the champion in Formula Konig. In 1989, he signed with the WTS Formula Three team and won the title in 1990. In the same year, he took part in the Mercedes Junior Racing Program. He won the 1990 World Sportscar Championship season at Autódromo Hermanos RodrÃguez. In the next year, he won the 1991 World Sportscar Championship season at Autopolis, Japan. He won the Formula One title in 1994 and 1995. From 2000 to 2004, he finished first in Formula One and he was in the team, Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro. In 2006, he finished with the second position and in 2012, he went to 13th position.
In 2002, he had the highest percentage of podium finishes in one season with 17 finishes. In 2003, he won seven titles and was one of the most championship titles in a year by a racer. Movies were made about Michael Schumacher and books were also released. From 2000 to 2004, he won five titles consecutively and held a record. In 2004, he had 13 victories and it is one of the most wins by a racer in a season. From 2000 to 2006, he had 7 podium finishes and it is the most consecutive podiums at the same Grand Prix.
