Dicky Barrett

Dicky Barrette is an American singer. His real name is Richard Michael Barrette but he is fondly and more popularly known by the former name. His loud and gravelly voice makes him unmistakably recognized among the other singers.                        

Born on 22nd June 1964, in Providence, Rhode Island, United States, he is currently 57 years of age. His father was a cobbler. Presently residing in Los Angeles, he is an Irish catholic. He completed his education at Norwood Junior High School and Norwood Senior High school after leaving the Xavier Brothers Senior High School.  

Dicky Barrette is the frontman or the lead vocalist of the Ska Punk Band The Mighty Mighty Bosstones that plays fusion genre-mixing ska music and punk rock music together. Not just music and bands, Dicky Barrett hosted his very own radio show named the Mighty Morning Show that he started in the year 2005. This show continued to be hosted by him till March of the following year.

Even though a substantial part of his musical career was with the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, he played in the local Boston area bands before it. These local bands were: The Cheapskates, the Toxic Toast, and the Impact Unit.

The viral smash hit of the Mighty Mighty Bosstones was “Knock on Wood.” Dicky Barrette has released nine studio albums with the band. He has traveled around the globe for his presentations with the Mighty Mighty Bosstones band.  His band’s 1997 album “Let’s Face It” was their most successful release whose hit single ‘The Impression That I Get’ had even reached #1 on the Billboard Modern Rock Track charts.

The band Mighty Mighty Bosstones disbanded in 2003, announcing a hiatus, though soon after, they re-united in 2007 after four years and are active till the present date. So, if you want to book a seat for their next show, don’t wait up!
