Toni Michelle Braxton is an American singer, songwriter, pianist, record producer, actress, television personality. She was born on born October 7, 1967. She had the singing capability right from her young age. She grew up as a singer within her family itself. Her Family managed to set up a musical brand titled 'The Braxton's' which included singers from the family itself and they were Toni Braxton and her sisters, Traci Braxton, Towanda Braxton, Trina Braxton, and Tamar Braxton.
Despite being commercially unsuccessful, the group's first single, "Good Life," led to oldest sister Toni Braxton's solo career. Thus, her career started with struggles, but eventually, Toni Braxton managed to sail in the same boat as a singer. Toni Braxton had a great association with music producers Antonio "L.A." Reid and Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds that helped her to build her career as a solo singer. In the year 1993, Toni Braxton debuted at number 36 on the Billboard 200 chart with her debut album, whose 10 million copies were sold.
Due to this, her international fame rose, and her another album 'Another Sad Love Song,' enabled her to follow up a new kind of music genre in America. She made herself ease with R&B, which is a music genre that combines elements of pop, rhythm, and blues, soul, funk, hip-hop, gospel, etc As an American R&B singer, Toni Braxton geared up with another self-styled album 'Breathe Again' which was written by Babyface and produced by L. A. Reid.
Her third solo album,
(2000), opened at number 2 on the Billboard 200 and its lead single, "He Wasn't Man Enough," reached number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. After that, there was no looking back for her and her career. Her music albums released amidst some contractual disputes namely - More Than a Woman (2002), Libra (2005) and Pulse (2010).
After giving so many solo tracks, this R & B singer geared up a duet track, and for this purpose, she collaborated with ' Babyface 'and released a duet album titled " Love, Marriage & Divorce" which fetched them both the Grammy Award for Best R&B Album in 2015. She is the recipient of seven Grammy Awards, nine Billboard Music Awards, and even seven American Music Awards.
She has almost sold over 67 million records, which includes 41 million albums worldwide. Besides enjoying her success in singing, Braxton has become a television executive producer and is involved in a reality series since 2011 titled ‘Braxton Family Values,’ which airs on We TV. Also, she is the executive producer for the seventh season of the reality competition series ‘Dancing with the Stars.’
