Marc Shaiman was born on October 22, 1959 in Newyork, New Jersy in the US. His parents are Claire and William Robert Shainman. He completed his schooling at Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School. He had won several Awards for his performance. He received Tony Award for his performance in the musical show Hairspray. He also wrote songs for the Television shows based on the musical shows. He and Wittman are honored by the New York Pops in April 28, 2014. Later they produced a recording along with Bette named IT's the Girls which was a box office hit. By 2007, he received the ASCAP's Henry Mancini Award for his contribution to his movies and relevision.
Shaiman joined with Wittman for the new musical score Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. In 2008 Shaiman released his mini musical album named Prop 8 - The Musical. The album released in the internet on December 3, 2008. The album made an unbelievable hit of about 1.2 million in the first-day release on Internet. Shaiman and Witt were nominated for several awards such as Emmy Award Grammy award for their performance in the song Let Me Be Your Star. They were nominated for Golden Globe award for their Television series as the best Comedy and Musical series.
