She is a musician, actress, and producer Bette Midler. She was born on December 1, 1945, in Honolulu, Hawaii, the USA. Her father Fred Midler is a painter at the naval base. Her mother Ruth is a housekeeper. She attended the Radford High School. To study Drama, she went to the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Bette Midler started her career with Richard Pearlman directed Tommy in 1971. Then she came up with her album The Divine Miss M in 1972 along with Barry Manilow. With her very first work itself, she reached the top ten in Billboards Album Chart and won a Grammy Award for Best New Artist. In 1973, she released another album titled Bette Midler with Manilow. This album is again a hit-making into the top ten Billboards list. For this, she received Special Tony Award in 1994.

From 1975-78, she worked on giving the voice for the Woody character in Vegetable Soup. Then, she appeared in 1977 Ol' Red Hair is Back, and won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Special Comedy. Bette Midler made her appearance in the 1979 motion picture The Rose. For her role, she won an Academy Award Nomination and won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress. The title song of the movie became so famous that she won a Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Performance. Soon, she released her fifth album Thighs and Whispers which couldn't make a hit. Then she released a concert film Divine Madness in 1980. She then took a role in the 1981 comedy Jinxed, which is a flop. Then her album No Frills came out in 1983. She tried her hand as a comedian, and it resulted in some good credits.

Soon in 1984, she tied up with Walt Disney Studios and appeared in movies like Down And Out in Beverly Hills, and continued with Ruthless People, Big Business, etc. Later she realized her album which had Winds Beneath My Wings. This song is one of her most famous songs which topped the Billboard's Hot 100 list. She also received Grammy Award for the Record of the Year. With this, her career was on a swing, and she had hundreds of songs and roles to her credit like in Seinfeld, The Nanny, etc. Bette Midler has a very kind heart too. She extended her help for the program Adapt-A-highway, New York Restoration Project, etc.
