Juliette Binoche was born on 9th March, 1964, in the 12th Arrondissement City of Paris, France. She is also known by the name, La Binoche.

She is a French actress, dancer and an artist. She is the daughter of the actor-director, Jean-Marie Binoche, and the teacher, Monique Stalens. She has two siblings, Marion Stalens (actor) and Camille Humeau (musician).

Binoche is married to Andre Halle. They got married in 1992. They are the parents of Raphael Halle. After three years of marriage, in 1995, they parted ways. Then, she tied the knot with Benoit Magimel, a French actor. The couple are the parents of Hana Magimel. Binoche had a very tough and abandoned childhood. She lived with her grandmother and her sister as her parents got divorced when she was just four. She went to a boarding school with her sister, Marion. Juliette joined the school theatre group and started performing for different productions.

Juliette debuted in the French film industry with the movie, Hail Mary, in 1983. In this movie she played the role of Juliette, a girl who forces Joseph (second lead) to get with her. However, she was included in only a few of the scenes in the final cut of the movie. She did many movies at the start of her career in which she mostly played the supporting character. These movies include Les Nanas, Family Life, Adieu Blaireau, etc.

She debuted in a lead role in the movie, Rendez-vous. In this movie, she played the role of Nina, a girl who is engaged in one-night stands with many people and is fed up of sharing apartments with strangers. It is the story of her life after she moves out of her old apartment and rents her own new place, and also when she meets Paulot, a clerk from real estate.

The actor is the recipient of many awards. These awards include an Academy Award under the category Best Supporting Actress for the movie, The English Patient, in the year 1997, an award for the Best Actress in 2010 at the Cannes Film Festival for the movie, Certified Copy, and many others.

Juliette is also very active in campaigns related to human rights.

She was also a part of the “Protest Picnic” campaign of 2002, which was initiated in opposition to the Vivendi Universal Company’s step of firing Chairman Pierre Lescure of Canal+ (a French television channel).

She is also a very kind-hearted person, as she has actively worked for orphan kids. She is the Patron of the Cambodian Charity Enfants d’Asie, France. She has raised funds for the construction of homes for orphans.
