Born in Paris, France to a theater director for a father and an actress for a mother, Julie Delpy is a French-American performer, film director, screenwriter, and singer-songwriter. She has always had to battle with physical ailments, right since the childhood and allegedly often has to go through migraines and panic attacks. Since her parents were involved in the underground theater circuit, she was bare to acting and art in general since a very small age. At the age of fourteen, she was found by a director named, Jean-Luc Godard, who made her star in the film, “Detective.”

Then, she starred in the movie, “La Passion Beatrice” in the year 1987. Her performance was remarkable, so much that she was nominated for a Cesar Award for Most Promising Actress. With her trip to New York City, she became an international star as she was featured in the movie, “Europa Europa” in the year 1990. Her role meant that she had to speak in German, which she didn’t know how to and since spoke her dialogues in English, which were later dubbed in German. Julie Delpy is also a musician, who launched an album called, “Julie Delpy” in the year 2003.

From the year 2007 to 2012, she was in a romantic liaison with the German film score composer, Marc Streitenfeld. They also had a son together named, Leo, in the year 2009.
