Eva Mendes is an American model and actress, born on 5th March 1974, in Miami, Florida. Her father ran a meat distribution business and mother worked at Manns Theatre and aerospace company. After her parents separation, her mother raised her in Los Angeles.
Her brother is Carlo Mendes and Janet Mendes, her sister. She completed her schooling from Hoover High School and attended California State University but dropped out to study Acting under Ivana Chubbuck. In 2012, she got into a relationship with George Augusto, and they got separated after eight years, in 2010.
Her breakthrough came when she appeared in
Training Day. She appeared in the rom-com Hitch (2005), opposite
Will Smith. It worked well at the box office and earned $ 366.7 million. In 2006, she won the American Latino Media Arts (ALMA) Award as Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for her performance in this movie. She starred in the crime drama The Place Beyond the Pines (2012) wherein she played the role of Romina Gutierrez, ex-lover of Luke Glanton (
Ryan Gosling). It received decent reviews from critics.
In 2011, Eva started dating her co-star Ryan Gosling, and they gave birth to their daughter, Esmeralda Amada Gosling on 12th September 2014. In 2009, Askmen.com ranked Eva on the no.1 spot in the Top 99 Most Desirable Women list, and People magazine announced her one of the Most Beautiful at Every Age in 2012.
Besides acting, she is also a singer and designer. She performed a duet with CeeLo Green on Pimps Dont Cry song featured in the film The Other Guys (2010). She even recorded a version of The Windmills of your Mind. Eva worked as a designer of a fashion collection for the
New York and Company, retail store. She is also a spokesperson and participant in Revlons campaign to raise funds for breast cancer research. She has a dog named Hugo.
