She completed her schooling from Saint Ann's School (New York) and then to pursue a career as an actor went ahead to take acting classes at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.

The acting fever had got to her by then, and she restlessly seized every opportunity that crossed her, even if it was a high school play on Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night. Lady luck soon smiled at Alexis, and her first onscreen appearance was in ‘Witchblade’, a supernatural thriller and Warner Bros. production.

However, she was not lucky enough to grab lead roles in the beginning, and major roles came slowly to her. Her first film was ‘Season of Youth’ in 2003 which revolved around an adolescent’s perception of racism. The first major role came her way in 2004 in the role of Hannah Vogul in ‘She’s Too Young’.

She gave a quite impactful performance as a sexually active teen dealing with adolescence.
