Neil Patrick Harris is a brilliant actor, producer and director. He is also a comedian, singer and magician. Neil was born on June 15, 1973 at Albuquerque, New Mexico in U.S. to Sheila Scott and Ronald Gene Harris. He was raised up in Ruidoso. He studied at La Cueva High School and graduated with honors in year 1991.

Neil started as a child actor. He was discovered by Mark Medoff in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He was subsequently cast in the drama film, Clara’s Heart as David, the son of Leona Hart (played by Kathleen Quinlan). He was starred as Billy Johnson in the 1988 sci-fi comedy film, Purple People Eater. His first teenage role was from the drama-thriller film, Animal Room in 1995, as Arnold Mosk, a bullied drug-user. He essayed supporting roles in films like Starship Troopers, The Next Best Thing, and more. He has done a fictionalized form of himself in the comedy film, Harold & Kumar Go to white Castle in 2004, Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay in 2008 and A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas in 2011. He voiced Dick Grayson/Nightwing in the 2010’s superhero film, Batman: Under the Red Hood and Lou’s character in the action-comedy film, Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore in 2010. In the same year, he acted as Jeff in the independent film, The Best and the Brightest. He was starred as Patrick ‘Pat’ Winslow in the 3D comedy film, The Smurfs in 2011 and The Smurfs 2 in 2013. In 2014, he played as Desi Collings, the ex-boyfriend of Amy (played by Rosamund Pike) in the mystery-thriller film, Gone Girl which stars Ben Affleck.

Neil also worked in the Broadway. He essayed the role of Tobias Ragg in the concert production of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street in 2001. He was also part of David Auburn’s Proof in 2002 and the musical, Cabaret in 2003. His portrayal in Cabaret was critically acclaimed. In year 2004, he has done another musical entitled, Assassins by Stephen Sondheim. He also played as Mark Cohen in the musical, Rent and reprised his role in an episode of the late night show, Saturday Night Live. Neil is also the director of the production of Rent. In 2011, he bagged the role of Bobby in another Stephen Sondheim’s musical comedy entitled, Company along with New York Philharmonic. He is also the director of Broadway’s The Expert at the Card Table in California. He also hosted Tony Awards from year 2009 to 2013 and this gained him Emmy Awards from 2010-2013. A week after, he played the title role in Broadway’s Hedwig and the Angry Inch.

Neil became popular for bagging the role of Dr. Douglas ‘Doogie’ Howser in the drama series, Doogie Howser, M.D. from 1989 to 1993, from which he gained a nomination at the Golden Globe Awards. When the show was ended, he made a variety of guest roles in television including the mystery series, Murder, She Wrote. He was starred as Henry McNeeley in the sitcom, Stark Raving Mad from 1999-2000. He also acted in many television films including the Snowbound: The Jim and Jennifer Stolpa Story. He was seen as Jimmy Burden in another television film, My Antonia in 1995 and The Christmas Wish. Neil also acted as King Charles VII of France in the two-part miniseries, Joan of Arc in 1999 and in 2001’s The Wedding Dress. From year 2005 to 2014, he donned the role of Barney Stinson in How I Met Your Mother. His portrayal of his role in the sitcom gained him nominations from year 2007-2010 at the Emmy Awards. In 2008, Neil was guest-starred in the children’s television series, Sesame Street. He is also a guest jury in the 9th Season of American Idol and hosted the 7th Annual TV Land Awards.

Neil also made a guest appearance in the popular musical drama series, Glee. Neil also played as Music Meister in the animated television series, Batman: The Brave and the Bold. In 2014, he drops the offer of hosting the Late Show on CBS and replace David Letterman in the show. He said, he is worried that eventually, he will get bored on the repetitive hosting of the show. He also turned down the offer of hosting The Late Late Show and replace Craig Ferguson. 
Besides acting, Neil has a passion on magic. He earned the Tannen’s Magic Louis Award in year 2006. Neil also confirmed in November 2006 that he is a gay. He also confirmed his relationship with David Burtka in the show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Their relationship started in year 2004 and on August of 2010, he announced that they will be having twins through a surrogacy agreement. Baby boy, Gideon Scott and baby girl, Harper Grace were born in year 2010.
