Raymond Herbert, popularly known as “Ray Wise”, is an American actor. He is best known for his remarkable role for Lealand Palmer in Twin Peaks. Born in Akron, Ohio, Raymond completed his preliminary education in 1964 and thereafter attended Kent State University. Having grown up in a religious family, he soon moved to a Methodist Church. His life can be viewed as a canvas of unforgettable on-screen characters. Right from his Lealand Palmer in Twin Peaks to his Jamie Rollins on the soap opera, he has pretty much conquered the television. He also appeared in the TV series Beauty and the Beast and several other science fictions. He had also played the famous role of “harried dad” in his famous horror film called The Dead End.
He had appeared as Liko in another of his film called The Star Trek: The Next Generation and soon after in the character of Arturis in The Star Trek: Voyager. He also appeared in a few episodes of Diagnosis: Murder and Tim and Eric Awesome Show. In 1995, he reunited with his Twin Peaks co-star Sherilyn Fenn in Liz: The Elizabeth Taylor Story. He had appeared as ‘the devil' on the TV series Reaper. In the recent years, he has appeared in a number of political-theme based shows such as The West King, 24 and Bones. He was then seen, in 2010, as Joe Torre on “Castle”, and “Suicide Squeeze”. Later he appeared in the season four of Chuck as well as How I Met Your Mother. He is currently appearing as Andy Rooney on Newsreaders. In 2014, he had also played the role of Ian Ward in The young and the Restless and also as Hugh Jones in Marvel’s Agent Carter.
He was casted as Dr. Alec in the film Swamp Thing and as Sol Gann in The Journey of Natty Gann. He further appeared in Season of Fear, The Rift and Grey Knight among many others. In 2011, he played the role of US Secretary of State in X-Men: First Class. In 2016 he appeared as Attorney Peter Kane in God’s Not Dead 2. Wise was a prominent part of films like Grey Knight, The Battle of Shaker Heights. It was in the same time, when he bagged the role of Jack Taggart in Jeepers Creepers 2. Without much of surprise he has been part of documentary films, “Digging up the Marrow” being one of them. Ray also has to his credit of having played as a voice actor in Superman: Doomsday. He is also known for playing Michael Dugan for the computer real strategy games named “Command and Conquer” and in Yuri's Revenge.
