He is best known for his work as an actor in Netflix’s, "Orange is the New Black." He did his schooling from Fiorello H. Laguardia High School in New York and for higher education, he attended Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts.

He started acting when he was 9 years old. He was also a competitive bodybuilder before entering into film Industry. He is Jewish (from his mother’s side) and describes himself as a feminist. He made his debut in the Television Industry in 2011.
