Italian and his mother an Austrian. After his father had abandoned his family soon after Mark’s birth, he was brought up by his mother. His mother changed his name so that it would help him get along with the rest of the children at his school.
Mark attended the Wymondham College in Norfolk, England, and later moved to Germany to study German Law at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. After a year, he returned to London and joined Royal Holloway, The University of London in Surrey, and did a course in Drama and English. After that, he attended Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in Bristol. He made his debut on television with the series, ‘After Henry’ in 1989 as ‘Roger’ in an episode. He was born Marco Giuseppe Salussolia on 5 August 1963 in London. He studied at Wymondham College and later in Munich, wanting to become a lawyer. But he returned to London where he pursued the course of English and Drama at Royal Holloway and mastered the art at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.
He appeared in televisions serials like Prime Suspect 3 (1993), Our Friends in the North (1996), Prime Suspect 6: The Last Witness (2003), The Long Firm (2004) along with many others. He worked in TV movies like Sharpe’s Mission (1996), Emma (1996) where he played the lead role of Mr. Knightley, Falling Apart (2002), Henry VIII (2003).
He co-starred with
Colin Firth in the movie Fever Pitch (1997). In the early 2000s, he starred in Heartlands (2002), Revolver (2005), Oliver Twist (2005). He has worked with
