Vincent Cassel

Vincent Cassel is a French actor widely known for his negative roles. He was born on November 23, 1966, in Paris, France. His birth name is Vincent Crochon. Vincent’s father, Jean-Pierre Cassel, was also an actor and his mother, Sabine Litique, was a journalist. Vincent Cassel married Tina Kunakey (actress) in the year 2018, and they have a daughter, Amazonie. Cassel has acted in more than 50 movies in 27 years of his career. These films include both English and French ventures. Vincent lives in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, since 2013. Besides acting, he is also an expert in martial arts of capoeira.          

 Vincent debuted in the year 1993 in the French movie, Metisse, directed by his old school friend, Mathieu Kassovitz. The following year, he was nominated at the Cesar Awards for Best Actor and Most Promising Actor for his first film as a lead, La Haine. The movie proved to be a big break for the actor. His first English work was a period drama, Jefferson in Paris (1995), but it couldn’t pull the audience towards theatres. Since 2001, he is inclined more towards English movies. Some of his notable performances are Ocean’s Twelve (2004), Ocean’s Thirteen (2007), and Shrek (2001). The veteran actor has gained International fame through these remarkable and unforgettable performances. Apart from movies, he is currently working in the 2016 Sci-fi thriller series, Westworld. He was offered to play a comic book hero but refused, as he wanted to play “an exceptional character of a villain.”

Other than French, Cassel knows four languages, English, Italian, Russian, and Portuguese. The actor featured in the Italian drama, Come mi Vuoi (1997), and Portuguese drama, Adrift (2009).
