Julie Anne Robinson is the well known television director of British origin who had been nominated for the British Academy for Film and Television Arts, as well as Golden Globe Awards. Not just a director, she has also been the producer of films. Julie has worked on productions like ‘Scoundrels’, The Middle, and ‘Weeds’. Her career started with directing a theater play called Terms Of Abuse. Initially, she did not receive the appreciation that she expected, but she did not lose hope.
She started climbing stairs of success when she received views in her favour for directing the play, ‘Yard’. To her success, she added Charles Spencer's, "The Daily Telegraph". Not only did the viewers praise her, but even the actors and actresses never spoke ill about her. They used to mark that Julie's direction always helped them perform better. Idan Morley was one of the persons to appreciate and criticize Robinson equally, which somehow helped her to improve. Henceforth, she never looked back. From the year, 2005 to 2006, she also got the contract for directing two episodes for Holly City and three episodes for ‘Goldplated’. She was the one to work for both the British television series and American television series. In the years 2007 and 2008, she also directed episodes for the American TV series and the episodes, “Wishing and Hoping”, and “The Becoming”. American TV series which she directed include, “Nurse Jackie”, ‘Scandal’, and “Big Love”, among others. In 2009, she signed a blind ABC contract and accepted to direct her first feature film, "The Last Summer". To appreciate her work, she was given many credits and awards. BAFTA, RTE, and Golden Globe Award nominations were given for her widely recognized mini-series, “Viva Blackpool” (in association with BBC), as well as for the television movie, “Coming Down the Mountain”. Soon, she married Robert Jones (Welsh Orthopaedic Surgeon), with whom she gave birth to two sons. Presently, she is of 70 years of age.
