Jay Duplass

Lawrence Jay Duplass is a widely known American actor and a spectacular director. He was born to Cynthia and Lawrence Duplass in New Orleans, Louisiana and was raised as a catholic. Being raised in an educated family, he went to Jesuit High School and attained a MFA in film from The UT (University of Texas) at Austin.

His brother Mark Duplass became his best companion. During his initial film career, he wrote and directed many award-winning short films along with his brother Mark Duplass. The famous ones are The Puffy Chair (2005), Cyrus (2010), and Jeff, Who Lives at Home (2011).

The super hit film Raising Arizona had been the inspiration for the career of the Duplass brothers. In an interview, Jay Duplass said that he would not have been making movies if he had not seen this stupendous film. Raising Arizona had been the base of everything which Jay and Mark depict in their work. Jay did not just confine himself to making films; in 2014, he also acted in the Amazon Prime Comedy and Drama series, Transparent.

The series was a big hit and earned 11 Primetime Emmy nominations. The series also came up with its second season in which, the role, which Duplass played became more influential than what he played in the first season, and he got nominated for the Critics' Choice Television Award(BJTA) for being the Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. He is also a part of the famous TV series The Mindy Project.

He is married to Jennifer Tracy Duplass. Jay is not just a movie maker and an actor; he is also runner, a responsible father and a documentarian.

2015 proved to be the most challenging year of his life. The only static thing that year was his disease bronchitis, but his brother Mark had been a rock-stone for him. Their longtime friend Steve Zissis said that the unity of the two brothers Jay and Mark allows them to create such a massive empire. Mark and Jay have their unique balancing act. He is a multi-talented person, and more of his great projects are yet to come.
