Joseph Kosinski

Joseph Kosinski is a TV advertisement as well as a film director from America. He is known for his digital work in computer graphics, and also, computer generated imagery.
Kosinski was born on the 3rd of May, 1974 in the state of Iowa, United States of America. He studied at the Columbia Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation. Along with making films and television commercials, he teaches the students of GSAPP graphics and 3D Modelling as a part-time professor there. With the increasing digitization of the world, animated films are much loved by a majority of the movie audience. Joseph Kosinski is behind many such computerized motion pictures.
Kosinski initialized his career with the movie Tron: Legacy. For the purpose of making the film mentioned above, he used Vision Research Phantom models of Camera. The movie got released to the public in 2010. Before making Tron: Legacy, he made a commercial for the video game Halo 3 named Starry Night, which was based on computer-generated imagery or CGI.
In 2005, Kosinski shifted to Los Angeles where he made the first draft of the screenplay of a movie. It ended up as a graphic novel and was given the name Oblivion for Radical Comics, which did not get published ever. Soon, Disney got the rights to produce this movie.  However, Universal Pictures finally acquired Oblivion’s rights and shooting for it began in 2012. It is said that Kosinski will work on movies as those based on The Black Hole and Logan’s Run shortly. People associate him with the making of the science fiction motion picture called Archangels and The Twilight Zone. Gran Turismo is a video game which will be formulated by him soon.
Kosinski was given the Best Visual Effects Awards in 2007 by the Association of Independent Commercial Producers for his work on the TV advertisement  Mad World, for the film Gears of War.
As an inspirational program for students of the Columbia Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation, Kosinski made a speech about his education in the architectural field.  He was a student of the same institute. He also spoke about his venture of making movies and the changing criteria of commercials which are undergoing an increased use of computer imagery.
In this emerging field of computer imagery, Joseph Kosinski’s contribution is immense.
